From February 5 to February 10, 2024 an official delegation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus is visiting the Republic of Uzbekistan where Ihar Voitau, BSTU Rector is a delegation member
On February 6, the delegates attended a round table event aimed at discussing collaboration between universities of Belarus and Uzbekistan. The parties exchanged their views on the current issues of educational and research cooperation, in particular, implementation of double-degree programmes, training of highly-competent professionals, joint research projects.
In the framework of the event a number of bilateral partnership agreements was signed. BSTU Rector signed agreements of cooperation with Tashkent Institute of Light and Textile Industry and Namangan Institute of Engineering and Technology. The agreements outline various collaboration initiatives, including academic mobility of students and staff, training courses, internships, summer/winter schools, joint conferences and publications.
On February 7, Tashkent hosted the Second Forum of Regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan. The Forum agenda embraced several sessions, including session “Development of Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus in the Field of Education and Youth Policy”.
On February 8-9, Ihar Voitau is visitng Uzbek universities, among them Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov, Tashkent Institute of Light and textile Industry, Kimyo International University in Tashkent, Tashkent University of Information Technologies. The visits focus on bilateral negotiations with rectors of the above higher schools and signing of bilateral cooperation agreements and roadmaps.
