V Международный молодёжный экологический форум стартовал в БГТУ

On May 19, 2026, Belarusian State Technological University (BSTU) launched the V International Youth Educational Ecological Educational Forum. The milestone event brought together young professionals, students, and experts dedicated to addressing contemporary ecological challenges.

BSTU Rector Serhei Kasperovich welcomed the participants, highlighting the university's role as a primary hub for environmental innovation, ranging from microplastics monitoring to the practical implementation of Best Available Techniques (BAT). He emphasized that BSTU has successfully cultivated an exceptional platform for the forum over the past five years. Today, BSTU stands as a recognized educational and research hub, the basic educational institution of the CIS countries for forestry and timber industry, and the coordinating entity for the Network University of High Technologies of the Union State.

Wishing attendees a rewarding experience, the Rector noted that the forum would significantly strengthen collaborative ties between Russian and Belarusian universities.

The participants also received warm welcomes from distinguished guests during the opening ceremony:

- Yuriy Makushin, Head of the Rossotrudnichestvo Office in the Republic of Belarus

- Andrei Karas, First Deputy Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus

- Viktoriya Pashko, Deputy Director for Education at the Republican Centre for Ecology and Regional Studies

- Olga Borisenok, Head of the Directorate of Environmental Policy, Science, and Information at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus

- Vladimir Zhevnyak, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Union State Office in Minsk.

The event gathered delegates from 10 leading universities across Belarus and Russia. Representatives took the stage to deliver introductory remarks and present short promotional videos about their respective institutions.

The opening ceremony concluded with vibrant performances by BSTU amateur talent groups, fostering a warm, collaborative atmosphere.

The forum upcoming agenda features round-table discussions on global and local environmental issues, alongside interactive workshops and hands-on field trips.

Complementing the academic tracks, a rich cultural program will take participants to hallmark locations across Belarus, including the Khatyn Memorial Complex, the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve, and the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, offering profound historical and regional insights.
