On November 18, 2024, BSTU Rector Ihar Voitau held talks with a delegation of Guangzhou Municipal Education Committee (China) headed by Mr. Cai Jianan, Inspection Head of the Committee.

From the Belarusian side the talks were joined by Andrey Hauryliuk Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Olga Rogova, Head of International Relations Office, Elena Yanukovich, Head of Double-Degree Programs and International Students Office. 

The parties discussed important issues of educational and research cooperation such as training of Chinese students at BSTU, academic mobility, double-degree programs, etc. Mr. Cai Jianan emphasized that the main goal of their visit to BSTU was to explore collaboration opportunities and define future steps towards working together for teaching of technology to students of Guangzhou colleges and universities. 

The Chinese party expressed their great interest in double-degree programs of engineering and technology. The proposal was supported by Ihar Voitau who gave a comprehensive over of the BSTU educational profile and outlined the most promising cooperation areas. BSTU Rector also put forward several project proposals that could be implemented together and promote Belarusian-Chinese cooperation.
