MINSK, August 25, 2026 – Belarusian State Technological University (BSTU) welcomed a delegation from the Federal Forestry Agency of the Russian Federation, led by Deputy Director Vyacheslav Spirenkov. The meeting was organized as part of the working visit to the Republic of Belarus, with support from the "Belgosles" Forest Inventory Republican Unitary Enterprise and the Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Belarus.

The guests were welcomed by BSTU Rector Serhei Kasperovich, alongside Andrei Sakovich (First Vice-Rector), Andrei Hauryliuk (Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs), Olga Rogova (Head of International Relations Office), and Sergei Kovalevskiy (Vice-Dean of Forestry Faculty).

During the meeting, Rector Kasperovich provided a detailed overview of the academic programs, advanced research capabilities, and key milestones in the history of the Forestry Faculty.

The presentation was followed by a productive roundtable discussion focusing on AI applications for modern forestry management; practical integration of scientific outcomes into forestry operations; best practices in professional development programs for forestry workers; collaboration on the "Forest Hackathon" student project, which is supported by the Federal Forestry Agency of the Russian Federation.

Following the talks, the delegation toured the campus visiting the Museum of BSTU History, the laboratories of Faculty of Forestry, and the Drone Operator Training Laboratory. The guests were particularly impressed by the BSTU Xylotheque (wood library), marveling at its massive collection of wood samples, which officially holds the status of National Treasure of the Republic of Belarus.

The visit concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to deepening cross-border academic and scientific collaboration in the field of forestry.
