A delegation of Luoyang Institute of Science and Technology (People’s Republic of China) visited Belarusian State Technological University on January 25-26, 2024.
Cooperation between the two higher schools has been in progress since 2019 in the form of three joint study programmes in such fields as Automation of Technological Processes and Production; Machines and Apparatus for Chemical Production and Building Materials Enterprises; Landscape Architecture. The first graduates of the joint programmes will be awarded their Bachelor degrees in June 2024.
The delegates of Luoyang Institute of Science and Technology had a meeting with fourth-year Chinese students doing their degree at Chemical Technology and Engineering Faculty and had a tour of student laboratories of Organic Substances Technology Faculty, Information Technology Faculty, Faculty of Forest Engineering, Materials Science and Design. They also visited BSTU affiliated college “Belarusian State College of Building Materials Industry”.
During the round table discussion hosted by Ihar Voitau, BSTU Rector and Andrey Gavrilyuk, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, the parties discussed prospects of collaboration, including such initiatives as double-degree bachelor and vocational programmes, creation of joint institute for training of highly-qualified and competitive professionals for domestic and international labour markets. They touched upon the main tools and techniques of teaching and learning at the future joint institute, including practical training of students and academic mobility of teaching staff and students.
Ihar Voitau emphasized that the joint institute will create an excellent platform for training of highly-proficient engineers, doing innovative research and implementing advanced technology projects.
