Centre for Tatar Language and Culture Opens at BSTU

 

On November 16, 2024, Ihar Voitau, Rector of Belarusian State technological university and Ilsar Khadiullin, Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan opened the Centre for Tatar Language and Culture at BSTU.

 

The event was held as a part of the visit of the official delegation of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan. The delegation also visited the exhibition of research developments of BSTU scientists and the Museum of BSTU History.

 

The parties held talks about the prospects of educational and research cooperation between BSTU and universities of Tatarstan. The visit ended with formal signing of agreement on creation of the Centre for Tatar Language and Culture under Kayum Nasyri Institute. The agreement was mutually signed by Ihar Voitau, BSTU Rector and Dmitriy Tayurskiy, First Vice-Rector of Kazan Federal University. The Centre aims at promoting the Tatar culture in Belarus and will encourage students and general public to learn the Tatar language.
