On September 25, 2024, BSTU Rector Ihar Voitau had talks with Svetlana Gusar, Rector of Yaroslavl State Agrarian University.
Svetlana Gusar delivered a lecture to BSTU students where she gave a comprehensive overview of Yaroslavl region and main activities of Yaroslavl State Agrarian University. She proudly noted that Yaroslavl region is a top-ranked industrial region in Russia with a high-profile oil refinery and cutting-edge tyre-making and paint manufacturing factories.
Speaking of Yaroslavl State Agrarian University, Rector Svetlana Gusar mentioned organic farming technology and development of health-safe food additives as priority research developments of their University. The University has established a specialized Resource Centre to promote organic farming for sustainable development of agricultural lands.
Svetlana Gusar was given a detailed overview of educational programs and research areas of BSTU and said she was looking forward to collaborative support from Belarusian colleagues.
The parties discussed prospects of future cooperation in such fields as landscape architecture, biotechnology, production and use of organic fertilizers. Both rectors agreed to develop various cooperation initiatives including joint participation in conferences and youth projects.
Svetlana Gusar visited the laboratory of foreign LLC “Slavkaliy” of the Department of Technology of Inorganic Substances and General Chemical Technology as well BSTU Wood Library (Xylotheque).
