On October 2, 2024 BSTU Rector Ihar Voitau and academic staff members had a meeting with Dmitriy Tayurskiy, First Vice-Rector of Kazan Federal University (KFU). The main focus of the discussions was the concept and vision of the High Technology University of the Union State to be mutually established by BSTU and KFU.

The parties also touched upon other promising collaboration initiatives in the field of education and research. Dmitriy Tayurskiy was given a detailed overview of BSTU activities as well as a short University tour which included:

- BSTU History Museum;

- Exhibition of Research Developments of BSTU scientists;

- Department of Mechanics and Engineering;

- Wood Library (Xylotheque);

- Applied Research Laboratory for Forest Protection;

- Department of Chemical Processing of Wood;

- Department of Biotechnology;

- Laboratory of foreign LLC “Slavkaliy” of the Department of Technology of Inorganic Substances and General Chemical Technology;

- Educational, Scientific and Production Centre for Glass and Ceramics.

Dmitriy Tayurskiy also delivered a short lecture to BSTU students in which he gave a comprehensive presentation of Tatarstan, KFU activities, its achievements, educational programs and research trends.
