The BSTU Electronic Library has improved its rank in the February 2023 edition of Transparent Ranking: Institutional Repositories by Google Scholar. The Library now holds the 161st rank worldwide and rounded out top three Belarusian libraries of such kind.
Transparent Ranking of Repositories aims to promote scientific research, by supporting free access to scientific publications and other academic material, in an electronic form. Records are indexed by Google Scholar. In total, the Transparent Ranking of Repositories assesses more than 4,000 repositories of universities and research institutions worldwide.
The BSTU Electronic Library provides open access to 39,807 documents. In 2022, the Library was accessed by 122,000 users with 204,000 requests, 555,000 views and 129,000 downloads. The top five countries where the Library users come from are represented by Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Germany. The main objective of the Electronic Library of Belarusian State Technological University is to collect, preserve and provide access to research outputs by the scientific and academic community of BSTU, freely and, if possible, with access to the full document.
The Library collection comprises teaching aids and manuals, scientific papers of “Trudy BGTU” Science Journal and papers published in international journals, conference proceedings and reports by academic staff and students, archive materials (photos, documents about the BSTU history) provided as full-text downloadable documents.
