On October 16-18, 2024 Lomonosov Moscow State University hosted the BRICS Universities Rectors’ Forum aiming to create a large-scale discussion platform for current issues of cooperation among BRICS universities, academic and expert communities.
BSTU delegation was represented by Rector Ihar Voitau and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Andrey Hauryliuk.
On October 16, the delegates of the Forum of Universities of Russia, Brazil and Belarus established a League of Belarusian, Brazilian and Russian universities. The Leagues is a voluntary non-formal association created to consolidate efforts of leading universities of the three countries and to promote academic mobility of students, researchers and academic and administrative staff of the League member universities. The League will also prioritize such areas of cooperation as creation and implementation of double-degree programs, academic exchange, distance-mode short-term courses, joint research projects.
On October 17-18, the participants of the BRICS Universities Rectors’ Forum discussed issues of academic and research cooperation in the modern context, rankings and their methodologies, global information security and creation of BRICS Network University.
BSTU delegation made a number of valuable connections at the event. Rector Ihar Voitau signed several cooperation agreements with Russian and Brazilian universities, including Kursk State University (Russia), Penza State University (Russia) and Espiritu-Santu Federal University (Brazil).
