MINSK, August 7, 2026 – Belarusian State Technological University (BSTU) welcomed a high-level delegation from the United Republic of Tanzania, led by Prof. Adolf Mkenda, Minister of Education, Science and Technology. The delegation was accompanied by H.E. Frederick Ibrahim Kibuta, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tanzania to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus (concurrently).

The BSTU delegation was headed by Rector Serhei Kasperovich, alongside Vyacheslav Fleisher (Vice-Rector for Research), Dmitriy Gapaniuk (Vice-Rector for Ideology and Student Life), and Mikhail Dyadenko (Head of the Research Department).

During the high-profile meeting, Rector Kasperovich provided a detailed overview of the university academic programs, advanced research capacity, and key milestones in BSTU history.

The parties discussed promising avenues for cooperation with Tanzanian universities and research centers, focusing on professional training of highly qualified specialists for key sectors of the Tanzanian economy; collaborative scientific and research projects; professional development, internships and training programs for Tanzanian faculty members and industry professionals.

Following the official talks, the distinguished guests toured the campus to experience BSTU academic environment firsthand. The delegation visited the Museum of BSTU History, the famous Xylotheque (wood library), the Laboratory of Crystallography, Mineralogy, and Petrography, the Applied Research Laboratory of Forest Protection, and a permanent exhibition of the latest research developments.

This high-level visit marks a significant milestone in BSTU strategic efforts to expand its educational and scientific presence in Africa. By fostering international dialogue with key global policymakers, the university continues to enhance its global reputation and contribute to cross-border knowledge exchange.
