Visit of the delegation of the rectors of the universities of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan
October 27, 2017 BSTU visited a delegation of university rectors of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The delegation was headed by the member of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, Mr. Gulam Raza Bhatia, and included the rectors of such universities as the University of Engineering and Technology in Lahore, the University of Peshawar, the National University of Modern Languages, the Shahid Women's University Benazir Bhutto.

Addressing the delegation, Rector Ihar Voitau noted that BSTU takes an active part in the development of Belarusian-Pakistani cooperation in the fields of education, science and innovation. In particular, in 2016 the university was visited by the head of a large holding Chohan Group, Mr. Talat Mahmoud Chohan and the Minister of State Federal Education, Professional Education, Drug Control Dr. Muhammad Balikh-Ur-Rehman. In February 2017, during a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Pakistan in the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Masud Raji, proposals were submitted for participation in three international projects through the National University of Science and Technology in Islamabad (e-health, RFID tags, radar technologies). In addition, at present, cooperation agreements have been signed with three Pakistani universities.

Ihar Voitau also noted that when he visited Pakistan in 2016 as part of the delegation of the Ministry of Education, he saw a high level of equipment of Pakistani universities and, in this connection, proposed to intensify the search for areas of mutual interest and joint projects in the scientific sphere. In the opinion of Ihar Voitau, cooperation in the educational sphere, including training of Pakistani undergraduates and graduate students in BSTU, creation of joint faculties (according to the "1 + 1", "3 + 2" schemes) can be of considerable interest.
For their part, the members of the Pakistani delegation stated that they are primarily interested in the development of such areas of cooperation as the preparation of graduate students and undergraduates, mutual training of teachers and scientists, the implementation of joint scientific research.
During the visit, the delegation also visited a number of laboratories of the university and got acquainted with its educational and scientific base.
