Polish Ambassador: our neighborhood is a great chance for cooperation

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Belarus Artur Michalski sees a large unrealized potential in the development of cooperation between the universities of our countries. The Head of the Polish diplomatic mission told about this at a meeting with the rector of BSTU Ihar Voitau, which took place on September 13 at the university.
Arthur Michalski stressed that our neighborhood – this is a great chance to develop cooperation. The ambassador expressed regret that at certain points in the history of the development of relations between our countries a number of lucrative prospects were missed. "However, life goes forward. Your university is developing dynamically, I am impressed by what I see. The same thing happens in Polish universities. We have many reasons for the development of cooperation in the field of education", - said the Ambassador.
 

He also stressed the importance of developing Polish language courses organized at the BSTU Language Training Center and expressed readiness to provide all-round assistance in conducting classes, including the provision of qualified Polish teachers through the Ministry of Education of Poland.
The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the university rector for the efforts undertaken by the BSTU and the rector personally to create a scientific and educational consortium between universities and research institutes of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Poland. Arthur Michalski noted the positive dynamics in the development of relations between our countries. In confirmation, he brought the forthcoming official visit to the Republic of Poland to the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by the Chairman of the Council of the Republic Myasnikovich M.V. «In strengthening relations between our countries, the main thing is desire. This will overcome all difficulties on the way», - stressed the Ambassador.
 
University Rector I.V. Voitau noted that, despite all the difficulties, Belarus is cooperating extensively with Poland. Polish technology is known and used in production for a long time. It is necessary to use the potential of cooperation between universities to create new breakthrough developments. For this there is everything you need.
The rector presented the Ambassador with information about the educational and scientific programs of the university, reported on cooperation with Polish educational and scientific institutions. Currently, BSTU cooperates with 13 poland's universities.
 
The rector appealed to the Ambassador with a request to transfer the invitation to the rectors of Polish universities to visit BSTU. He offered the Polish side to take part in the development of the University 3.0 project and in the creation of the BSTU Technopark. The participation of Polish universities and companies in the upcoming November 27, 2018 1st meeting of the Scientific and Educational Consortium between higher educational institutions and the Research Institute of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Belarus, which will be held as part of the events of the 1st International Scientific and Educational Forum on Petrochemistry, was discussed. on November 26-30, 2018. During the Consortium meeting, it is planned to sign an Agreement on the organization of the Scientific and Educational Consortium between higher educational institutions and scientific research institutes of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Belarus. glare Poland and the development of cooperation programs in the field of scientific and engineering personnel for the sphere of high technologies and innovation activities in Belarus and Poland in the implementation of high-tech projects.
In addition, the development of cross-border projects on ecology and forestry were discussed. The rector of the university pointed to the great experience gained in the field of protection of water transboundary objects and invited the Ambassador to consider the creation of a joint environmental education center in Poland. Ihar Voitau invited Artur Michalski to visit the Negorelsky experimental forestry to get acquainted with the scientific and educational base and organize summer camps for Polish students. The Ambassador expressed great interest in this proposal and promised to visit the Negoreloye.
