From 6 to 12 September 2018, the first vice-rector of BSTU, academician Tsyhanau A.R., visited the Republic of Turkey. in order to establish cooperation in the field of education and science with Turkish universities, scientific organizations and companies.
In Istanbul, A. R. Tsyhanau held talks on September 7, 2018 with the rector of Marmara University, Professor Erol Özvar. During the talks, a presentation of the educational and scientific potential of BSTU was made, issues related to the possibility of implementing joint educational programs and creating joint educational structures were discussed, a Memorandum of Understanding on the development of further cooperation between the two universities was signed.

In Erzurum, the first Vice-Rector Tsyhanau A.R. held a series of meetings and negotiations with the management and staff of one of the largest Turkish universities - Ataturk University. A visit to two faculties took place: the engineering faculty and the faculty of exact sciences, during which A.R.Tsyhanau examined the classrooms, laboratories and instrumentation base of these faculties.

Following the meeting, the following documents were signed: Memorandum on reaching an agreement on cooperation between BSTU and Ataturk University; Cooperation Agreement between BSTU and Ataturk University; Agreement on joint training of specialists with higher education between BSTU and Ataturk University; The protocol on the implementation of exchanges of students, undergraduates, graduate students and scientists in the framework of the Mevlana program.
During the visit to Turkey, negotiations were also held with the directors of two recruiting companies, on the results of which the parties signed agreements on cooperation in the recruitment and training of foreign citizens.
The past visit allowed a significant boost to the interaction of BSTU with universities and companies in Turkey. Prior to this, BSTU has concluded a cooperation agreement with only one Turkish higher education institution - the University of Giresun. At the same time, our university is actively training Turkish citizens in Russian language courses and annually, about 100 people graduate from them.
