From May 6 to May 11, 2018, the rector Ihar Voitau visited the city of Foshan (People's Republic of China). Within the framework of the visit, meetings and negotiations were held to expand cooperation in the educational, scientific, technical and innovation fields with the leadership of government bodies, universities, scientific and innovative organizations in Foshan City and Guangdong Province. 

As a result of negotiations with the leadership of Foshan University, a framework agreement on cooperation was signed in which the parties agreed to establish a joint faculty on chemical or chemical-technological profile. Negotiations were also held with the representatives of the Zhongkai University of Agriculture and Machine Building, during which they discussed the implementation of a joint project in the field of environmental protection, as well as the possibility of establishing a joint faculty.
Ihar Voitau took part in two conferences: a seminar-presentation of Belarusian universities, held May 8, 2017 in Foshan and the Guangzhou-Belarus Conference on Information and Biotechnology and Technologies of Artificial Intelligence, organized May 9, 2018 in the Technopark of the Haizhu District the city of Guangzhou, and delivered a presentation of the educational, scientific, technical and innovation potential of the BSTU.

In the framework of the visit, in addition to cooperation in the field of education, issues related to interaction in the innovation sphere were actively discussed. A visit to the Foshan National High-Tech Industrial Zone was held, an agreement on cooperation on the joint creation of the "Offshore Incubator of Guangdong Province in the Republic of Belarus" was signed, in which the parties agreed on the implementation and commercialization of joint projects (engineering, energy saving, new materials, ecology and environmental protection environment) at enterprises and companies in Foshan City.

Taking into account that the Center for the Study of the Chinese Language and Culture was opened in the BSTU in April 2018, negotiations were held with the director of the "Technological Educational Company" Usin "LLC, on organizing the teaching of the Belarusian language for Belarusian students, teachers and specialists. Following the results of the negotiations, it was proposed to create a special platform for teaching the Chinese language using interactive training modules and a corresponding memorandum of cooperation was signed.

The city of Foshan is located in the southern part of Guangdong Province, covers an area of ??3,797 square meters. km, the population - 7.3 million people. The key industries of the city economy are the production of household appliances, the assembly of optoelectronic devices, the production of electronics, textiles, ceramics, plastic products, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. The annual GDP growth is 16.4%.
