Joint Research Laboratory Conceptual design and design of furniture provided the Department of Technology and Design of wood products and Blum company Monday, September 10.
Today «Blum» – is the world market leader in the field of furniture transformation mechanisms. The company is engaged in the production of hinge systems, lifting mechanisms, as well as drawer and extension systems.
«Blum» and its official representative in Belarus, Antarion Group, equipped the premises of the represented laboratory with modern and high-tech equipment and systems for setting up research and educational processes.
The future activity of the laboratory is aimed at creating electronic services based on augmented and virtual reality technology, which allows it to adapt even to the most demanding consumer.
The trend of individualization of products in the furniture industry is steadily gaining momentum around the world.
The opening of the laboratory was attended by the Rector of the BSTU Ihar Voitau, the vice-rector for scientific work Aleg Darmeshkin, the dean of the TTLP faculty, Vladimir Loy, and the staff of the TDID department headed by the head of the department Sergey Shetko.
The creation of the laboratory marked a new stage in the development of the Department of Technology and Design of Wood Products, as well as in the development of partnerships with leading global furniture companies. In the future, building and strengthening research and educational potential in the field of research of the processes of the furniture and woodworking industry. The uniqueness of the laboratory for students lies in the fact that they can personally collect all the products, and this allows us to speak about the training of highly qualified specialists in the furniture industry.
